Jabatan Perpustakaan UTM bergiat aktif atas usahasama rakan strategik dalam memperkaya sumber bahan bacaan dalam format braille bagi keperluan Murid Berkeperluan Khas (MBK) Kelainan Upaya Penglihatan peringkat sekolah rendah dan menengah dalam menyokong pembentukan pembudayaan ilmu serta pembelajaran sepanjang hayat seiring dengan aspirasi Pendidikan Malaysia. Tahun 2000 merupakan titik tolak bermulanya
