Welcome to CSBC 2025

In today’s world, where collective action and knowledge-sharing are more important than ever, citizen science empowers individuals from all walks of life to take part in research that matters — especially in addressing global challenges like climate change, environmental sustainability, and public health.

Whether you’re a student, educator, researcher, community advocate, or simply someone who cares about the world around you, this boot camp is designed to help you get involved. You’ll gain the knowledge, practical skills, and strategies needed to support, train, and inspire others to participate in citizen science projects that make a real difference.

The library, as a hub of learning and collaboration, plays a key role in connecting communities, nurturing curiosity, and supporting inclusive scientific engagement. Through this program, we aim to build a strong and diverse network of citizen science champions — people from all backgrounds working together to advance knowledge and tackle pressing issues like climate change through shared action.

No matter your experience level, this journey will empower you to contribute, and connect — bringing science closer to people and people closer to solutions.

Let’s move forward together to explore, learn, and act for a better, more sustainable future!

Our Objectives

1. Making UTM a center for eco-tourism that positively impacts global perceptions of UTM

2. Making UTM Library a Citizen Science hub that connects UTM researchers with the community

3. Making Citizen Science a part of UTM Library’s community service programs

4. Making Citizen Science more accessible by providing exposure to the public through knowledge sharing and hands-on field research.

5. Making climate change visible and relatable by encouraging public participation in observing, recording, and understanding its real-world effects through citizen-driven data and storytelling.
