How to pay my library fines?

There are two ways you can pay for your fines:

 

CASHONLINE PAYMENT

Books must be returned by the specified date or time indicated on the date due slip or the patron’s library account. Fines for overdue loans are calculated from the due date until the day the items are returned. The decision of the Library to impose a fine and quantum thereof shall be final and not subject to any appeal, save where gross error can be shown

Cash

Visit our Circulation Counter at Johor Bahru & Kuala Lumpur Campus

Overdue Fines

Overdue fines will be applied for items returned after the due date. 

Overdue fines are:

  • RM0.20 per day for each book/magazine/CD-ROM with accompanying book
  • RM0.50 per day for each audio-visual item  

Borrowing privileges will be suspended if a member has outstanding charges in his or her account. The privileges will be restored when outstanding charges are paid in full.

Terms & Conditions

For UTMSmart

The minimum payment is RM1 and the payment record will be updated with 15 minutes

An additional charge of Rm050 will be imposed by the bank of FPX payment.

Payment of fines is allowed only after the overdue item (s) has been returned.

Lost and/or Damaged Items

If you lose and/or damage a library item, you will have to pay:

  • Cost of the lost and/or damaged item,
  • Administrative fee of RM25 per item, and

Replacements for lost and/or damaged items will not be accepted.

There will be no refund once payment is made even if the lost item is found later.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended once you incur charges in your library account. The privileges will be restored when outstanding charges are paid up.
