In August 2024, UTM Library hosted two impactful programs focused on Turnitin—one designed specifically for students and another tailored for instructors. These programs attracted a total of 90 participants, fostering a deeper understanding of academic integrity and originality.


Program Highlights
1. Turnitin for Students. This session equipped students with the knowledge to:
•       Submit assignments with confidence using Turnitin’s plagiarism detection tools.
•       Understand similarity reports to improve writing quality and ensure originality.
•       Embrace academic integrity as a key component of their academic journey.

2. Turnitin for Instructors. Designed for educators, this session focused on:
•       Leveraging Turnitin as a teaching tool to guide students in proper citation and ethical writing practices.
•       Interpreting similarity reports to provide constructive feedback.
•       Utilizing Turnitin features to maintain fairness and transparency in the evaluation process.

The Impact:
Participants, including students and instructors from various faculties, left the sessions with:
•       A solid understanding of how to use Turnitin effectively.
•       Enhanced skills to promote ethical research and writing.
•       Tools to uphold academic standards across the learning community.
