UTM Library successfully hosted a specialized training session in partnership with Gale on 29 April 2025, attracting 41 participants eager to enhance their research capabilities.

The one-hour session, titled “From Online Secondary Sources to Primary Sources and Key Reference Works for Your Research Needs,” took place from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM via Microsoft Teams. Sean Chia, Senior Sales Manager at Gale, served as the expert trainer, guiding participants through the comprehensive features and functionalities of Gale’s extensive database resources.

The training focused on helping researchers navigate effectively from secondary sources to valuable primary sources and authoritative reference works. Participants learned how to maximize the potential of Gale’s digital collections, which provide access to a wealth of scholarly materials essential for academic research. The session covered practical search strategies, database navigation techniques, and methods for identifying credible sources to support diverse research projects.

The strong attendance reflected the academic community’s commitment to developing advanced research skills and staying current with digital library resources. This collaboration between UTM Library and Gale underscores the library’s dedication to equipping students and staff with the tools and knowledge necessary for successful academic endeavors.
