On 9 February 2026, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Library successfully organised a hybrid session titled “Getting to Know Wiley Digital Textbooks: Librarian Orientation” at the Information Searching Laboratory, Level 4, Raja Zarith Sofiah Library (PRZS), UTM Johor Bahru, from 2.30 PM to 4.00 PM.

The session was attended by 45 participants, comprising librarians and library staff who were keen to deepen their understanding of Wiley’s digital textbook platform and its applications in supporting teaching and learning activities at UTM.

The program featured Mr. Peter John, Manager of Digital Delivery, John Wiley & Sons Singapore, who provided a comprehensive overview of Wiley Digital Textbooks. Participants were introduced to key platform features, access models, content coverage, usage insights, and strategies to maximise the value of digital textbooks for academic programs.

The session also highlighted practical approaches for librarians to:
Support faculty in adopting digital textbooks
Enhance student accessibility to course materials
Promote awareness of Wiley resources within faculties
Strengthen collection development decisions through data insights

An interactive Q&A session concluded the program, allowing participants to engage directly with the speaker and clarify operational and technical matters related to the platform.

UTM Library extends its appreciation to Wiley Online Library for the collaboration and continued support in empowering librarians with updated knowledge on digital resources. This orientation session reflects UTM Library’s ongoing commitment to enhancing digital resource literacy and supporting innovative teaching and learning initiatives at the University.
