The Read to Lead Program and the Launching of UTMKL Book Club, a synergistic collaboration between UTM International Kuala Lumpur and UTM Library Kuala Lumpur, took place on 8th June 2023, Thursday at Dewan Seminar, Menara Razak, UTM Kuala Lumpur.
This exceptional event was graced by the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah binti Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj S.S.I.S, whose awe-inspiring sharing ignited a profound passion for women empowerment. Notably, Her Royal Highness captivated the audience with her incredible reading habits, devouring an astonishing 120 books per year, earning admiration from all in attendance.
During her speech, she shared a recommended reading list that further inspired the audience to explore new ideas and perspectives through books. Among the books recommended by Her Royal Highness were some captivating choices. They included “Daughter of the Moon Goddess” and “Heart of the Sun Warrior” by Sue Lynn Tan, a thrilling fantasy duology.
Her recommendation also featured the captivating trilogy comprising “The Henna Artist,” “The Secret Keeper of Jaipur,” and “The Perfumist of Paris” by Alka Joshi, transporting readers into the enchanting world of historical fiction.
Additionally, Her Royal Highness suggested “The Violin Conspiracy” by Brendan Slocumb, a gripping mystery that promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats. In addition to her literary recommendations, Her Royal Highness generously bestowed three precious books as gifts to the library, further nurturing the love for literature within the community.
