Johor Bahru, 22 April 2025 – The 451st ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme Assessment was held from 22nd to 24th April 2025 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), involving evaluations of two academic programmes, Master of Education (Educational Technology) of Faculty of Educational Sciences and Technology, and Master of Science (Biotechnology) of Faculty of Science to ensure alignment with regional and international quality standards. UTM Library played a key role in supporting the audit process by showcasing its e-resources for the Open Distance Learning Program.
Approximately at 3.30 pm, UTM Library received a visit from four AUN-QA auditors at on 22nd April 2025. Accompanied by their liaison officers, the auditors were welcomed by Pn. Nor Shaliza Mohd Basarudin, who represented the library during the session. The audit at the library was led by Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek, who took a keen interest in understanding the library’s role in supporting academic excellence through digital resources and infrastructure.
A comprehensive briefing on the library’s online services and platforms that enhance teaching, learning, and research was provided. Key areas presented included the UTM subscribed online databases, journals, and E-books, UTM Institutional Repository (UTM-IR), and Digital Management System (DMS).
The audit team also discussed UTM’s academic integrity initiatives, including the use of Turnitin, a plagiarism detection software used across the university. Furthermore, they were briefed on the library’s efforts in tracking and improving user satisfaction through the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), conducted regularly to measure service effectiveness.
