Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Library successfully hosted an insightful sharing session titled “Understanding the Value of Nature Journals for High Impact Research” on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, from 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The session was conducted in hybrid mode (physical and online), allowing wider participation from the UTM community.

The program attracted an encouraging total of 131 participants, consisting of lecturers, researchers, postgraduate students and academic staff who were eager to explore the benefits of publishing and accessing high-quality journals under Springer Nature’s Nature Research portfolio.

The session was facilitated by two invited speakers from Springer Nature:

Mr. Kent Yeap, Senior Licensing Manager (Institutional Sales, Malaysia & Brunei)
Ms. Stephanie Koo, Senior Solution Specialist (Nature Research)

Throughout the session, participants gained valuable exposure to the Nature Journals platform, including guidance on navigating journal resources, identifying high-impact journals, understanding journal selection strategies and maximizing research visibility through reputable publications. The speakers also shared practical insights on how Nature journals contribute to research excellence and institutional impact.

The program ended with an interactive Q&A session, where participants actively engaged with the facilitators and raised meaningful questions regarding publishing trends, journal metrics, and access to Nature Research content.
UTM Library extends its sincere appreciation to Springer Nature for their collaboration and commitment in supporting UTM researchers. It is hoped that this session will further strengthen research performance and publication quality among the UTM community.
