Building on the positive impact of the January 2026 engagement, UTM Library extends its collaboration with UTM SPACE in March 2026 through the Introduction to Library Information Resources online sessions, aimed at further strengthening students’ awareness and skills in utilising library resources for academic purposes.
UTM Library continued its efforts to support flexible learning by delivering a series of online sessions tailored specifically for UTM SPACE students. Focusing on building strong foundations in information literacy, two sessions of Introduction to Library Information Resources were successfully conducted, attracting a total of 450 participants.
Mastering the Digital Vault: What Was Covered?
Participants were introduced to:
- Information Searching Skills: Techniques to locate reliable and relevant information efficiently using library resources and online databases.
- UTM Library’s Services and Tools: A detailed overview of the library’s extensive offerings, from physical collections to digital platforms.
- Research Essentials: Guidance on leveraging resources to craft high-quality assignments, research papers, and projects.
The high attendance reflects a growing commitment among students to master digital literacy in an increasingly information-heavy academic environment. By bridging the gap between users and the library’s vast digital vault, this program empowers students to conduct research with greater confidence and accuracy. The ultimate impact is seen in the improved quality of academic output and the cultivation of independent, lifelong learning skills that are essential for future success.
