A delightful, enlightening and thought-provoking afternoon with Prof. Dr. Durrishah binti Idrus, UTM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) took place on April 9, 2019 at Perpustakaan UTM (Bangunan Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah) UTM Johor Bahru during the Program Bicara Karya: “The Art of the Good Life”. The fruitful programme was attended by an enthusiastic audience of UTM staff members as well as local and international students.

Prof. Dr. Durrishah related the lessons in “The Art of The Good Life” to stories from her own life during the programme. “The Art of the Good Life” is a toolkit designed for practical living and provides shortcuts to satisfaction that include fifty-two happiness hacks. The book which was written by Rolf Dobelli is a follow up to the international bestseller “The Art of Thinking Clearly”.

Here are some of the lessons learned and take home messages from the session:
• Stay modest.
• Count your blessings
• Focus on your input, not output.
• Do, do not think.
• The less you expect from life, the happier you will be.

A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Dr. Durrishah for sharing with the audience valuable and relatable advice and insights about how to live life contentedly.
