  • SIRIM QAS International has issued an IQNET recognized certificate that UTM Library has implemented and maintains a Quality Management Systems for the scope of Provision of Library Services which fulfils the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
  • First Place winner of Pertandingan Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Perpustakaan Akademik 2022 through “Projek Terangi Hatiku: Bahan Braille Special Learning Tool Kits”

2019-2020

August 2020 – UTM Library received the Administrator Award and Sports Award during Majlis Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2020 (CITRA KARISMA). In the same event, UTM Library was recognized for its participation in Quality Services Award and Information Technology Award.

July 2019 – UTM Library received the Information Technology Award (Webometric Award) for Non-Academic Category and Sports Award during Majlis Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2019 (CITRA KARISMA). In the same event, UTM Library was recognized for its participation in Webometrics Award for Individual Category – Quality Services Award – Innovation Services Award

April 2019 – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been awarded with High Research Output Award ranked 2nd with 124 articles.

2018

July 2018 – Winner of the Information Technology Award (Webometric Award) for Non-Academic Category in Majlis Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2017 (CITRA KARISMA) at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru.

November 2018 – Winner of  Read@Uni Exhibition in Majlis Perasmian Pelancaran Read@Uni by Yang Berhormat Menteri Pendidikan Malaysia, Dr Mazslee Malik at UiTM Shah Alam pada 29 November 2018

2016

May 2016 – The year 2016 has been a successful year for UTM Library during Majlis Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2015 (CITRA KARISMA) at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru. Among the awards and recognitions are:

  • Anugerah Kualiti Perkhidmatan (AKP)
  • Anugerah Teknologi Maklumat (ATM)
  • Anugerah Webometrics UTM 2015 for Non-Academic Category

 

2015

Nov 2015 – In UTM Innovative, Efficient & Productive Convention (KIEP) 2015, Library Interlibrary Loan@LIBRILL group, was announced as the winner for Lean Management Best Performance and Best Group in Lean Management Category. For Innovative & Creative Category, KristalLib Group has won the Gold Medal while the Library SWAT Group won the Silver Medal.

July 2015 – The Ranking Web of World Repositories has positioned UTM-IR at 95th in Top Institutionals and maintained the first place repository 4 years in a row among IPTA in Malaysia. Congratulations!

2014

June 2014 – Winner of the Information Technology Award (Webometric Award) for Non-Academic Category in Majlis Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2014 (CITRA KARISMA) at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru.

July 2014 – The Ranking Web of World Repositories has positioned UTM-IR at 82th in Top Institutionals and maintained the first place repository among IPTA in Malaysia. Congratulations!

2013

2012

The year 2012 has been a successful year for 5K, the KIK/ICC Team from UTM Libraries. The 5K team members which include Rodzuan Mohd Yusoff (Team Leader), Mohd. Azmi Jufri, SIti Anniza Aznan, Azrul Nizam Zainal, Mohamed Asyik Sanusi, Safura Jemain, Noor Amirul Amin Ahmad, Nor Azhar Nasrudin, Salihudin Bakhri and Zul Izuan Hanafiah have made UTM Libraries proud with their brilliant performance on easy (Shelf Search System), an innovative and efficient system to locate books on the shelves. Among the awards and recognition they have received are:

  • October 2012 : 3 GOLD STARS – ICC MPC CONVENTION (NATIONAL LEVEL)
  • September 2012 : 1ST RUNNER-UP ICC CONVENTION FOR LIBRARIES
  • July 2012 : GOLD MEDAL ICC/QE CONVENTION SOUTHERN REGION
  • April 2012 : GOLD MEDAL MINI ICC CONVENTION SOUTHERN REGION

2011

October 2011 – PSZ has successfully organised the1st PERPUN International Conference and Workshop On Key Performance Indicators for Libraries on 17th to 19th October 2011, at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru.

July 2011 – The Ranking Web of World Repositories has positioned UTM-IR at 37th in Top Institutionals and 46th in Top Repositories in the world. Congratulations!

January 2011 – UTM-IR has moved up to the 61st place in the list of Top 400 Repositories, and 48th place for the Top 400 Institutional. This is the highest achievement for UTMIR since its introduction in 2007. (Ranking is based on the Ranking Web of World Repositories).

2010

September 2010 – PSZ has been awarded with ISO 9001:2008 (valid from 9 September to 29 May 2013).

July 2010 – UTM-IR has moved up to the 91st place in the list of Top 400 Repositories, and 77th place for the Top 400 Institutional. (Ranking is based on the Ranking Web of World Repositories).

January 2010 – UTM-IR was placed 99th in the list of Top 400 Repositories, and at the 89th place for the Top 400 Institutional. (Ranking is based on the Ranking Web of World Repositories).

2009

December 2009 – As of December 2009, the number of UTM Reading Stations or UTMRS has increased to 45 (UTM Johor Bahru) and 10 (UTM IC Kuala Lumpur).

July 2009 – UTM-IR’s position in the Ranking Web of World Repositories has moved up to 58th place for the Top 400 Repositories and 48th for the top 400 Institutional (Ranking is based on the Ranking Web of World Repositories).

12 May 2009 – Winner of the UTM Vice Chancellor’s Quality Award (AKNC) in the Majlis Citra Karisma.

4 May 2009 – UTM Reading Stations or UTMRS was formed as an effort to create reading culture among UTM community. Sixteen (16) locations were identified as the pioneers to the project which was the brainchild of the Vice Chancellor.

January 2009 – UTM-IR was placed 85th in the list of the Top 400 Repositories, and 72nd in the list of the Top 400 Institutional (Ranking is based on the Ranking Web of World Repositories).

2008

 15 May 2008 – PSZ is one of three finalists of the Anugerah Kualiti Naib Canselor (AKNC) in the Majlis Anugerah Kecemerlangan & Penghargaan UTM 2007.

7 April 2008 – PSZ staff bagged the Excellent Student Award (Dissertation for University Malaya) 2007 organised by Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia.

30-31 January 2008 – Winner of the Best Counter Service Competition in conjunction with UTM’s Quality Week.

January 2008 – UTM-IR is ranked 127 in the Top 300 Academic Repositories in the Webometrics Ranking of World Repositories, representing Malaysia and ASEAN region.

2005-2007

December 2007 – UTM-IR is ranked 157 in the Top 300 Academic Repositories in the Webometrics Ranking of World Repositories.

13 November 2007 – First runner up of the 2007 Focus Learning Service Challenge Award.

10th July 2007 – UTM is the first Malaysian Public University to implement the “Open Access Policy” for it’s intellectual materials through Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah, UTM. (Refer to Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR).

February 2007 – PSZ staff won in naming Malaysian Universiy Libraries & National Library Network (PERPUN) website, MyUniNet

26-28 December 2006 – 2nd. place in the Best Counter Service Competition in conjunction with UTM’s Quality Week.

14th-15 November 2005 – 2nd. place (Technical Group) in the first UTM Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) Convention.

 

1998-2005

 6th April 2005 – Winner of PPM/Access Dunia Excellent Library Award 2005.

4th July 2002 – Candidate of the “2nd Asean Energy Efficient Building Best Practices Competition: Retrofitted Building Category” organised by the Asean Energy Awards.

30th May 2002 – Upgrading of PSZ MS ISO 9002:1994 certification to MS ISO 9001:2000.

11th November 1999 – Finalist in the Best Education Website Category of the Malaysian Internet Awards 1999 organised by MIMOS Berhad, The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) and Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad.

29th April 1999 – Winner of the first UTM Vice Chancellor’s Quality Award 1999.

30th May 1998 – MS ISO 9002:1994 certification by SIRIM.
